Earning From Google Image Traffic

Earning From Google Image Traffic

Most people inadvertently accumulate Google image traffic. I say inadvertently because I don’t know anyone that really goes straight for image traffic. Anyhow, this can be done by keyword image names, alt tags and placing them image near relative text. The reason I mention I don’t know anyone actively going for image traffic is due to the fact that most surfers ignore your page and immediately click on the “get larger image” link and then leave. But with a little piece of javascript code we can now send them directly to your page.

<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
if (top.location != self.location) top.location.replace(self.location);
</script>

By adding this you will see an increase in pageviews and it will likely result in the surfers actually checking out what you have to offer. Now, I haven’t tested this too much, I was actually searching for this solution today… so I’m not sure what Google’s standpoint is on this or whether or not it will hurt your SERPS. I don’t see why it would, but if I find anything out I’ll let you guys know.

    I put this on my blogs year ago. Probably as far back as 2006. In 2005 when I opened my blogs I noticed my traffic ratio was around 500 per day in web searches and 2000 in image searches. Problem was, image searches often just looked at the image and never went to my blogs.

    After installing the script I got 2,500 hits from Google and saw my conversions go through the roof!
