Like most of the articles I post to this blog, this method is in no-way new or earth shattering, but still widely unused and by some, still unknown. Either way, I feel the need to keep my affiliates updated, regardless. It simply involves promoting new paysites the minute they are launched.
These days programs are churning out new sites monthly (sometimes even more often than that). Therefore it’s important to actually read those newsletters hitting your inbox informing you of these new sites. New sites should be viewed as a new way to make money. Look at it this way, they’re still widely unknown to the public (and search engines) and thus, they are exploitable. The easiest money making opportunities come about when a new site launches. And it’s very simple for you to take advantage of this.
Take for example the latest porn crazed CMNF (Clothed Male, Naked Female) site to hit the web; The Dancing Bear from Program 3. When I first heard of this site it was from a user posting his incredible stats on GFY. After taking a look around the site I knew it was an easy sell. The content was fresh and original (where else are you going to find some crazy ass male stripper in a bear costume?) that should say enough… So what did I do? I registered a domain name hoping to bank on some search engine love. I registered DancingBearBlog.com. I then uploaded the infamous TubeTheme as the wordpress layout of choice. From there it was a matter of a couple hours of work (if that) updating the site with a handful of videos, descriptions and banner content. Easy as pie.
Once the updating was complete, it was a simple waiting game. Notice you don’t see any link trades on there… I also did not send traffic to that site in anyway besides hoping for the organic stuff. I also did not purchase traffic for the site. I simply let Google do it’s thing and pray that it got picked up somehow. Well, it did. Not in a tremendous way, in fact, the site gets less than 100 uniques per day, but the important thing is that the site makes money. In fact, I’m doing 1:537 with it as of this posting.
And that’s really it. It’s not rocket science. It’s just acting early and jumping on a site before most other affiliates do the same. Here is a search statistic shot for September 2009:
Unfortunately I got 1st page results for “free dancing bear porn” – of course in the porn world, associating yourself with anything “free” is an automatic death sentence. Nonetheless, the site got it’s fair share of productive traffic and I still made money, so I really can’t complain. In no way am I a SEO expert (nor would I ever claim such a thing), I just bought a domain, put in about two hours of work and hoped for the best. As of right now I’ve made $315.00 with it (out of less than 5,000 clicks), which is pathetic compared to what others are doing. I know some guys that are doing thousands of dollars in sales a month with that site alone. These guys run incredibly successful networks, but nonetheless, I did this to show you that without an already ongoing steady steam of traffic, you too can make money with this method. This revenue is from one site only. Two hours of work (thats about $150 an hour). The site will continue to earn money as well, so you can clearly see the potential.
From here you can capitalize on this in a variety of ways. Scale things out a bit. Instead of buying one new domain for a new site launch, purchase 5-10 different ones and put in a full days work to get all of them running and looking good. I mean, if I was really smart I would have done the same method with Program3′s Nikki Price site. But let’s not get sidetracked. Look at it this way:
1 Domain Name: $10
Tube Theme: $40 (one time purchase)
Two hours of your time: Free (Take a weekend to do it if you have to spread your time thin.)
Total Cost: = $50
Total Revenue: $265
Times That By Scaling Your Network To 10 Individual Sites x10 -$100(domain costs) = $2250
Overall Total Revenue $2550 (for a day’s worth of work).
Over course this is all in theory. I am merely showing you a one site example as a basis. Either way, even if you did 50% of the sales on 10 sites, you’re still walking away with $1275 in sales for a day’s worth of work.
One last thing I would like to add is that it’s always polite to contact the program you’re promoting in regards to the domains you purchase. I had the pleasure to meet up with Hans and the others behind Program3 and had their go ahead with my site’s domain name. Very friendly guys over there! Nonetheless, some programs may not be open to the idea of using their trademark in your domain. Always contact them first and ask politely for their permission. Let them know that you intend to only promote their program in a positive manner… I’m willing to bet they won’t have a problem with it.
In the future I would like to repeat this case-study with a much more generalized site in order to see the revenue margins. I highly doubt you will see the same results promoting another run-of-the-mill cliche porn site. With that said, I think this method works best for new sites with top notch content and originality. It also does pretty well on new solo-girl releases.
Last, but not least, try putting up some of our dating/webcam ads on your site. If you can’t sell your visitor to the actual paysite, you may be able to convert them with us. We are non competitive with 99% of paysites and we may be able to save a few of your otherwise exiting customers.
Great article, I’ve found you don’t even need to buy a tube theme to get organic traffic.
I love wordpress themes… even the new default that comes with wordpress can make a great blog based site which can self-update with rss feeds and the wp-o-matic plugin.
I’ve http://www.camtransvestite.com up for around a month and already google is working its organic magic. It’s all about the niche and finding a good keyword rich domain name.
Great article buddy .. just had some exp from it and i will start something based on your idea today
I hope i can be somewhere something
